CUSTOM BANNER ART REQUIREMENTS FOR DIGITAL FILE PREP

Banner Works utilizes a Vutek 5300, digital imaging printer. This is a 300 dpi inkjet printer capable of printing media up to 16.5 feet.

Basic tech information for file prep.

Raster Images:

Scanned images should have a minimum resolution of 40 PPI (pixels per inch) at final output size or a proportional size to rez, ie: a 10' x 10' final size would equal a Photoshop image 10' x 10' @ 40 ppi or a 5' x 5' image @ 80 ppi or a 2.5' x 2.5' image @ 160 ppi. Photoshop is the preferred software but other imaging software is fine as long as images are saved as .tiff or .eps. Images can be either cmyk or RGB (we will convert).

Vector Files:

Line art and graphics created in either Illustrator or Freehand should be saved in the native format to reduce file size. They may be saved as .eps if you want. Text may be placed in files, but please convert to outlines to avoid font issues. If this is not done, please include the copy of the font that was used so we may accurately image your job. Include all linked files used in the production of the artwork. PLEASE DO NOT EMBED IMAGES. Failure to follow guidelines could result in productions delays. Please contact our Creative Department if there are any questions concerning file prep.

Page Layout:

Quark, Pagemaker or InDesign may be used for page layout. Proportion your layout to 1" = 1'. (Note: In Quark if the final size is greater than 48' in the long direction, you will have to use a scale of less than 1" to 1' because of a page size restriction). Also you will need to include all of the fonts and supporting files when sending us the final doc.

Zip 100 and 250mb or CD are the only media we accept or files may be emailed.

NOTE: Banners are finished with sewn 4” hems top and bottom and 1/2” side seams (see diagram). Art files should be adjusted accordingly, with particular attention to placement of text.
